Krown is designed to slow down or inhibit corrosion on vehicles. It is a petroleum based product with rust inhibitors containing no solvents. In fact the Krown product is environmentally safe, contains no toxins or solvents, is non-flammable, is non-reactive, is non-corrosive, can be sprayed in any weather, remains active, and is not WHMIS controlled.
Does it drip? Why....and for how long?
The product must get into the seams and around spot welds to work effectively. It is moisture that causes corrosion, so an effective rust inhibitor needs to be thin enough to penetrate anywhere that water can. After the product has penetrated these areas, the excess product drips off. The majority of the dripping occurs within 24-48 hours with very little, if any, dripping after that point. Don't worry Krown is environmentally-friendly.
What if it drips on my driveway?
If your driveway is asphalt the marks on your driveway will go away on their own usually after a week or two. If your driveway is concrete or interlocking brick your local Krown location can provide you with a special cleaning product that will remove the stains with very little effort.
How does it work?
Krown is sprayed in every corner of the vehicle and as it contacts metal, it lifts the moisture off and out of seams. It then continues to repel moisture by setting up a moisture resistant bond on the surface of the metal.
When is the best time of year to have my car sprayed?
If your vehicle has never been protected, then the best time to spray it is right now. From a corrosion point of view, the corrosion process is most active in the spring and summer months due to the increase in temperature. However, an annual application of Krown, regardless of the time of year it is applied in, will provide 12 months protection against corrosion.
Can you Krown rusted cars?
Both new and used vehicles are susceptible to rust and our product works on both. Krown is absorbed into existing corrosion and pushes out any moisture, thus slowing any further corrosion down significantly.
How do you know where to spray?
Krown technicians go to training seminars every year to learn how to spray as well as to receive updates on the new techniques for current vehicles. Training videos demonstrating the proper application process are also used to ensure that the correct procedure for application is performed on all vehicles. We are the only company in the industry with this comprehensive training program.
Doesn't washing the vehicle defeat the purpose of treating it? (Won't the product wash off?)
After your vehicle is sprayed with Krown at one of our locations, your vehicle receives a wash. We are cleaning the excess product off of the windows and painted surfaces where the product is not active. The rust inhibitor itself cannot be removed from the metal with soap and water.
Why do you have to drill holes and will these holes rust?
Certain areas of a vehicle can only be accessed by drilling or cutting small holes in key spots. These holes are treated with a special compound so even if the vehicle is never sprayed again these areas will not rust. Each hole is then plugged with a grommet that leaves a clean, neat finish.
How does Krown compare to competitive products?
In laboratory tests, Krown has outperformed all of our competitors. Copies of test results are available at any of our Krown locations.
What makes Krown different from other "rust protection" products?
Many companies use coating products that are designed to cover over areas that are susceptible to rust. These products may look nice but they do not provide adequate protection against corrosion. For example, these types of coating can be breached by abrasion or chipping. When this happens, moisture can enter in under the coating and become trapped against the vehicle surface. In this situation the coating will actually accelerate corrosion rather than prevent it. Krown by comparison is self-healing and is constantly creeping, remaining active to continuously repel moisture and keep it away from the metal surface. In addition, unlike coating-type products, Krown penetrates into even the tightest seams and spot welds delivering a much more effective and comprehensive protection. One final difference is the added benefit that Krown offers of lubricating many moving parts on a vehicle such as door locks, brake cables, power antennas, etc. Coating products cannot do this.
Can Krown be applied even if it's raining or snowing?
Absolutely, Krown can be effectively applied in any type of weather.
Do I have to "Krown" my vehicle every year?
To ensure that your vehicle is adequately protected, it is essential to have it treated every year. Especially these days when extremely aggressive road chemicals are in use for de-icing our roads, make sure you come in for a treatment every year.
How much does it cost?
The annual cost to spray a vehicle differs depending on the vehicle type. However, regardless of what you drive, the cost of an annual Krown application is far outweighed by the thousands of dollars you will save over the life cycle of your vehicle. Does Krown offer a warranty against corrosion?

What is the difference between Krown and "undercoating" products?
Undercoating is an old technology designed to cover the exposed surfaces of your vehicle with a wax or tar based coating. While these undercoating products look good at a glance, they are not truly effective in protecting your vehicle. Undercoating products do not have the ability to creep and penetrate in the seams, spot welds and other hard to access areas of your vehicle like Krown will. These are the areas the rust is most likely to form! Also, as these coatings wear, crack and become damaged they can actually trap moisture against the metal surfaces of your vehicle and accelerate corrosion. Many people classify Krown as an undercoating or rust proofing product, but Krown?s unique formulation is able to protect your vehicle in ways that traditional undercoating cannot!
Will Krown void my manufacturer's warranty?
There are many common misperceptions about our rust control products and their effect on our customer's vehicle manufacturer warranties. Unless the manufacturer warranty on your vehicle expressly states that third party rust control products will void the warranty, using Krown products should not void your vehicle's manufacturer warranty. New car dealers have a vested interest in selling their own rust control and can be very misleading with their statements. It is beneficial at times to address this question in writing to the vehicle manufacturer as opposed to the dealership. Can you spray a Hybrid vehicle?
Most manuals for Hybrids specifically state no rust proofing is to be applied. This is due to the fact that most rust proofing products are designed to leave a heavy coating. These coating type products can cover the sensors underneath and actually lead to safety risks for technicians working on the vehicle. Krown leaves only a light oily residue that is designed to displace moisture and slow the corrosion process. Krown has a dielectric strength of 40000 volts, meaning it is non-conductive and will not have any impact on the electrical system. We have been spraying hybrids for a long time and treat many of them on an annual basis. From a body structure perspective, they follow our standard application process.
Can you spray an aluminum vehicle?
Krown is designed to work most effectively with steel. However, it will also provide protection on aluminum, especially where dissimilar metals meet. There is no negative impact whatsoever to treating an aluminum vehicle. The Krown product will also help to protect the electrical components of your vehicle as the product is designed to displace moisture and leave a light oily barrier.
